Customer Alert: Changes in AES Reporting Requirements – New Walker SLI
Walker International Transportation has updated its Shipper’s Letter of Instructions (SLI) to reflect the additional data elements that are required by U.S. Census for the Automated Export System (AES) filing. To access the new form, please here: Walker SLI (New Form 04-2014)
The Code of Federal Regulations (15 CFR 30.6) now specifies the following as being required:
A. Type of Ultimate Consignee:
- D = Direct Consumer
- G = Government Entity
- O = Other/Unknown
- R =Reseller
B. License Value (for shipments that are being exported under a License) the USD value of the license is to be reported in the AES submission.
Unless you have an Export Power of Attorney on file with Walker International, along with an SOP that would document the above criteria, we will require you to complete an SLI for every shipment. This will enable us to comply with the regulations, as well as your requirements and instructions, for the transportation of the shipment.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you should have any questions or need further assistance.
